My TL1000R racebike

Hi friends, thought it’s about time that I started putting some of my past motorcycle on Classic Cars and Tools! As I look back, reminiscing through the historical documents~ What an exciting time in my life!!! Plus as an added bonus~ I’m still here to tell the Tales~! ; ) If you follow the motorcycle blogs, you’ll learn more about my history and my other super bikes, but for now, let’s just talk about my TLR! ; )

The first motorcycle in my series, though the pics will be out-of-order according to when I owned each one, but this is the bike I chose to put on here first.

Here I am at Texas World Speedway Houston Motorsports speed ranch, about ’07 I’d guess. I never was really fast, but I had one heck of a time! The excitement is crazy wonderful!

A brief history of my TLR, I bought it from a man in Washington and had it shipped to my home. Of course the first thing I know how to do is take off the plastic and get the bike looking great! The better it looks, the faster it will go, right? ; )  If anything, I have to look good in the photos being taken going around the track. Notice my TLS in the background of this photo? sigh! 🙁

I actually think I had more fun taking the bike apart and see it becoming a marvelous looking machine!

The exhaust cans, I took them completely apart, gutted them, had the aluminum parts anodized red, bought new emblems and they looked marvelous and sounded great!

Of course this is not a cheap hobby, new leathers, boots, paddock stands, the list goes on!

However, and unfortunately, the first lap at Texas World Speedway, the transmission quit working! It wouldn’t go into 3rd or would pop out. I was talking here to Gary, my husband, trying to figure out what I was going to do! Long story short, I found another engine out of a wrecked TLR with 1500 miles on it, for 1500.00, and had it installed and then I was back in action! Never had another problem after that!

At this time, I was caught up in the glamour of fun apparel and a website that I belonged to, the www.TLzone.net.  There were many good people who shared the same excitement, fueling my needs and wants and sharing the stories as well of fun and excitement!

A typical morning of preparing for a track day. Bikes loaded, leathers and gear are in the car, got plenty of fuel, and ready to rock baby!!

Here’s a shot of my TLR at the track in Cresson Tx, (Motorsports Speed ranch, or MSR)  Darn it was hot there! 99 degrees this particular day, I had to go fast to stay cool! ; )

I think this was at Houston Motorsports speed ranch. Though I was ahead of this other bike, it probably passed me by like I was standing still! Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t going slow!

Unfortunately, I rarely did drag my knee! But looking back at these photos, I really miss those days!

I Hope you enjoyed a little of my recent past and this great motorcycle. This bike, I had from ’06 -08. Bikes come and go! I still have all my gear, and my life isn’t over yet ; )  I still could make a few more rounds and have a little more fun!  Please sign up for future posts on Classic Cars and Tools!  ; )  dne’
